Although XP Security Center sounds like a security tool, it is actually a malicious rogue anti-spwyare program that forces its way onto your computer. It is a program that launches automatically when you start your computer, and runs unauthorized scans that display false notifications claiming your computer is severely infected with spyware and other malicious parasites. 1 Click the Windows \"Start\" menu and click \"Run.\" Launch the command prompt by typing \"cmd\" (without quotes) and pressing \"Enter.\"

3 Press \"Ctrl,\" \"Alt,\" and \"Delete\" together. This launches the task manager. Click the \"Processes\" tab. Click \"XPSecurityCenter.exe\" from the list of processes and click \"End Process.\"
4 Launch the Windows search tool by clicking the Windows \"Start\" menu and clicking \"Search.\" Click \"All Files and Folders\" and select the \"C:\" drive in the \"Look in\" box. Click \"More Advanced Options\" and check all the options given.
